Natural Tips for Looking Good This Christmas
It’s Christmas party season and we all want to look our best in our festive frocks and sexy shoes. To help, I’ve put together my top Home Spa tips for looking good this Christmas. If you’re going out and you want to look good, get your skin looking good first!
For skin that glows naturally, alternate invigorating showers, using a rough surfaced wash cloth, with relaxing baths with a stimulating blend of pure essential oils. Add 3 drops of Green Mandarin and Spearmint and 1 drop of Rosemary to the bath to calm any anxiety, lift the spirits and stimulate a really healthy glow.
For silky smooth skin exfoliate to remove the dead cells that give your skin that dull lifeless appearance. There are a huge range of fashionable salt scrubs on the market and if you have a youthful, elastic skin these are great. However, for those of us with a more mature, sensitive skin then they can be a little harsh. Try making your own body scrub instead with 50% Sea Salt and 50% Oatmeal. Mix to a paste with Olive Oil and apply to towel dried skin in a circular motion using your fingers. Using your fingers rather than a cloth or brush is important because different areas of skin have different levels of sensitivity and your fingers will give you full control. With an implement you may overdo it leaving your skin feeling tight or even grazed. The Oatmeal is very high in Vitamin E which has a rejuvenating effect on the skin and will counteract any harshness from the salt.
Look and feel sleek and svelte in that little black dress - Banish Puffiness. Areas of the skin such as the abdomen, upper arms and ankles can appear to have a soft puffy texture. I recommend essential oils known for their detoxing effect and stimulating influence on the circulation. Try Geranium for its diuretic effect and Palmarosa for its stimulating character and beneficial effect on the skin. Add 2-4 drops of essential oil to a tablespoonful of good quality base oil such as Almond Oil. Cutting down on caffeine rich drinks i.e. coffee, tea and cola can help as well as regular exercise.
Sexy heels will look great on smooth, soft soles - For cracked heels, use a pumice stone or file to remove the hard skin and soak the heels in Almond Oil with 2 drops of Tea Tree and 1 drop of Benzoin added per tablespoonful of oil. Alternatively try Potions & Possibilities Finger and Heel Relief Balm.
Kissable Mistletoe Lips - Get a good night’s sleep, drink lots of water and make sure you balm your lips the day before a big night out. Try Potions & Possiblities Essential Lip Relief Balm, then exfoliate the lips with an earbud – it helps to get rid of the little flakes of skin.
I hope you've find these ideas useful. If you have any specific questions please don't hesitate to email me direct.
Merry Christmas
